2012 Ice Breaking Session and Amazing Race Edinburgh

Assalamualaikum, 

On 29th September 2012, the Bruneian Edinburgh Society held an ice breaking session with the newly arrived freshers. The aim of the event was to familiarize the fresher with the role of the society and its members as to help the transition of the freshers into their new environment. The event was started with a recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and a welcome speech by the vice president of BES, Adi Zekwan bin Mohd Addly. The president of Bruneian Edinburgh Society, Nurmazziyah Raziqn binti Haji Yusof also gave out a few words. In her speech, she mentioned the importance of MIB and that fellow students should always be independent and responsible with their behaviour and action as not to bring any disgrace to themselves and their country.

 The event was followed by an activity organized by the committee members named Amazing Race Edinburgh where each team must search for checkpoints scattered over the city of Edinburgh and complete the task given to them as to win the race. The purpose of the race was to build teamwork among the members and also exposing the freshers to the beautiful city in an interesting way. The final checkpoint was at Calton Hill and the event ended with prize presentation to the winning team and a group photo.
